Photo Assignment

Alright, so everything after the colon will be what I submitted for the FroKnowsPhoto.com photo assignment. The assignment was to play around with back lighting and manually setting your shutter speed so that you can capture your subject even with light directly in the lens. I just thought some of my friends might find this interesting, so that’s why I’m posting this! Enjoy:

It was an overcast day today, so I decided to create my own lighting situations.

Directly in front
Nikon D5100 w/ kit lens
ISO 640
40 mm (18-55mm)
f/5.3
From left to right:
1/1000 sec; 1/60 sec; 1/25 sec

Below, light in frame
Nikon D5100 w/ kit lens
ISO 640
34 mm (18-55mm)
f/5
From left to right:
1/125 sec; 1/30 sec

Layered lighting
Nikon D5100 w/ kit lens
ISO 640
18 mm (18-55mm)
f/4
From left to right:
1/500 sec; 1/200 sec; 1/80 sec

I, personally, always thought playing around with back lighting was fun. Lighting in general can be fun, if you use it correctly. Hope this fulfills the assignment! 😀

Well, that was the post.  Hope you guys enjoyed it!
